The aromas and fragrances contest 

 

  • Tasting contest of different milks

Visiting the goats. Explanations and visit of the facilities. Blind tasting contest of different milks (cow, goat, ewe). Tasting cheese in a convivial atmosphere.

 

  • The hidden aromas in chocolates 

Greeting at the factory, and visit of the premises in company of the confectioner. You will learn the whole story of chocolate, the chocolate maker will explain and demonstrate his expertise. Tasting contest of various chocolates to recognize the different aromas in the chocolates (ginger, raspberry, orange, etc.).

 

  • The aromas in artisanal oils, vinegars and mustards

A demonstration of the making of artisanal oils in presence of the miller. Blind tasting of oils (grape seeds, colza, hazelnut, marrow seeds), vinegars (raspberry, pistachio, mango) and mustards (big chasselas grains, Espelette pepper, douce à la raisinée) on sale at the mill.

 

  • Scent contest of essential oils 

Explanation on the distillation of essential oils. Scenting contest of the produced essential oils. 

 

  • Blind tasting of artisanal beers 

Visit of a brewery and explanations on the making of artisanal beer. Presentation of the different products. Tasting contest of the different beers.

 

  • Make your own bread at the baker’s 

Greeting at the laboratory by the baker. Explanation on the making of bread. Hands-on workshop for all participants “Make the best bread of the group”.

 

  • Make your own chocolate at the confectioner’s 

Greeting by the confectioner at his laboratory. This will be your opportunity to experience this practice and get started on the basic notions. The chocolate maker will arrange a creation workshop and you will be able to either bake a cake, a chocolate bar or even vintage truffles. You will leave with your own creation.

 

  • Become a glass blower

Greeting at the glass blowing workshop. Admire glass blowing made with a blowtorch, and blow your own glass ball.

 

  • The floral workshop 

Make your own floral arrangement under the supervision of our florist partner. It is possible to combine this activity with e.g. a tasting contest and divide the group.

 

  • The 18th century ice creams and sorbets workshop 

Around 1750, when refrigeration techniques didn’t exist, how were ice creams and sorbets made ? This workshop-visit will make the audience become aware of an interesting part of their history through a number of objects related to the nutrition habits and table manners of our ancestors. The participants will then be able to make their own ice cream or sorbet, in the way it was made in the 18th century. Saffron, clove, rye bread and rose flavours will be in the place of honour!
